Is the GFC over?

Yesterday at work our weekly online newspaper announced yet another reduction in the budget across public sector agencies over the next 4 years. There is a part of me that has sighed with relief that we (Australia) have avoided the GFC. But a voice in my head keeps saying no we are going to get hit hard.
